Cabinet approves constitution of 8th Payar Commission. The Pay Commission decides the salary and compensation of central government employees, and with the 8th Pay Commission, they can look forward to a salary hike. I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the 7th Pay Commission, implemented from 2016 is valid till 2026. Ahead of that the government has approved the constitution of the 8th Pay Commission so that recommendations are made in a timely manner and can be implemented from 2026 onwards, Vaishnaw said. It is expected that the 8th Pay Commission could bring about an important change in the pay scale for Indian government employees starting on January 1, 2026. These commissions are determined on a regular basis to update pay scales and benefits according to changes in the economy of the nation, inflation, and worker needs.
